Perfect Alfredo



1/4 cup butter

3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

3/4 cup heavy cream

1/4 tsp dried basil

1/4 tsp dried oregano

1/4 tsp dried parsley

1/2 lb noodles of choice


  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook noodles according to package directions.

  2. In a medium saucepan melt the butter over medium heat.

  3. Gradually stir in the cheese and then cream until well blended.

  4. Add in Spices

  5. Heat just to boiling, stirring constantly,

  6. Remove from heat and add noodles.


Tips and tricks!


Make sure not to heat the sauce too much or it will separate. If you don't stir enough, it will also separate so be sure to keep a close eye on it.


This recipe goes great with chicken, steak, seafood, or even Italian sausage. Very versatile and usually doesn't separate when reheated as long as it doesn't get too hot while cooking.


The easiest way to combine the cream is very slowly. I usually do it about an eighth of a cup at a time until its well-blended and then add the next splash continuing like that until it's all added.
